NGƯỜI CHA

NGƯỜI CHA

(Tác giả: Nguyễn Đức Toàn – Tổ 1, Khoa Anh A, HUBT)

Suốt đời vất vả sớm trưa,

Vai cha gánh cả nắng mưa sớm chiều.

Thương con, cha dạy trăm điều,

Yêu con, cha hát sớm chiều con nghe.

Chẳng cần câu nói yêu con,

Tình cha biển lớn, núi non cao vời.

Bàn tay chai sạn, chân mồi,

Mồ hôi thấm đượm núi đồi cha đi.

Tóc cha nay đã bạc nhòa,

Còng lưng gánh cả mặn mà đắng cay.

Bóng cha in đậm tháng ngày,

Chở che con vững vạn ngàn phong ba.

Cha ơi! Con nói một lời,

Tình cha biển lớn, cao vời Thái Sơn!

MY FATHER

(Translated by the author, Nguyễn Đức Toàn)

From dawn to dusk, he toils away,

His shoulders bear the sun and rain each day.

He nurtures his children in countless ways,

And hums them lullabies in morning rays.

He never says “I love you” aloud,

Yet his love is deep as the sea, a mountain proud.

His hands are rough, his temples gray,

Sweat drips on hills, his heavy steps weigh.

Now his hair is white as frost,

His back is bent, yet carries loss and gain.

Time has carved wrinkles on his frame,

He guards his child through wind and main.

Oh Father! Let me say this true:

Your love is higher than the sky so blue,

Vast as the ocean, boundless and wide—

Mount Tai stands towering right by my side!

MY FATHER

(Translated by Quang Đặng)

From dawn to dusk, through sun and rain,

My father bore the seasons on his shoulders.

He taught a hundred truths without proclaiming one,

And filled my days with quiet songs.

He never said, “My child, I love you.”

Yet all his silence held an endless sea.

His calloused hands, his toil-worn feet,

Left sweat along the mountain paths he crossed.

Now winter rests upon his silver hair.

Time bends the back that once carried my world.

Yet still his shadow walks with mine,

A shelter no storm has ever taken.

Father—

At last, let me speak

The words you never asked to hear:

Your love is measureless as the sea.

Mount Tai could rise no higher.

Whatever light now lives in me

Was first kindled by you.

(Quang Đặng - YM, 28.06.2026)
