PINK DAY - IELTS 11
A SYMBOL OF KINDNESS – A
PROMISE TO SAY NO TO BULLYING
Have you ever
witnessed a friend being mocked – excluded – or treated unfairly? Most of us
have seen such moments, and deep down we know how painful they can be.
Sometimes, silence hurts even more than the harshest words. That is why Pink
Day was created – as a reminder that we must not stay silent,
but instead raise our voices to say “no” to bullying in every form.
The story began in
Canada – when two high school students decided to wear pink to support a
younger boy who had been ridiculed for his pink shirt. That simple gesture of
solidarity spread quickly, inspiring people across the world. Over time, pink
became more than just a color – it turned into a global emblem of
kindness – empathy – and humanity.
For Hoang Long High
School, Pink Day is not merely an imported event. It is a chance to reaffirm
our shared promise: to create a school environment that
is safe – welcoming – and filled with mutual respect. It
reminds us that school should be a place where every student feels valued,
supported, and encouraged to be their true selves.
Wearing pink is not
about style or trend – it is about courage. A pink shirt carries a powerful
statement: “I
choose kindness. I choose to protect my friends.” Yet courage does
not always require grand actions. Even the smallest gestures – offering a
smile, writing a caring note, sharing a word of encouragement – can have the
power to change someone’s day. When multiplied by hundreds of students, these
acts become a collective force for good.
Picture our
schoolyard filled with pink – classrooms alive with joy – voices of
encouragement echoing through the halls – friendships strengthened by trust and
compassion. That vision is not just a dream; it is something we can make real,
together.
On Pink Day, every
Hoang Long student becomes a “living pink shirt” – carrying within them
kindness, bravery, and hope. And when kindness is worn not only on our shirts
but also in our hearts – bullying has no place to grow.
